I am currently a senior at Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, Hawaii. Home is Sacramento, California where I was born and raised and where my parents and two younger siblings are at. I have lived in Hawaii now since August of 2013 and I now consider it my second home. Before moving here for school I had never been here or any sort of island before- so it was definitely a risk and the biggest test of my life thus far. I came to HPU with an academic scholarship and more importantly, a soccer scholarship. I didn't commit to the school until the spring semester of my senior year of high school but it just seemed like the right fit for a brown girl like me. I have grown so much the past few years and have learned so much because of this single opportunity. I am in the mass communications program where I specifically study advertising, public relations, and journalism. With graduation quickly approaching in May, I am still unsure of what the next step in my life will hold for me but I know it will be nothing short of greatness. If I am not playing soccer somewhere or at school I am honestly probably doing nothing.
